Local Concerts: Catfish and the Bottlemen

on

All the way from Llandudno, Wales, Catfish and the Bottlemen are coming to Columbus’s Express! Live on April 2nd. The Indie rock band will be playing hits from their first two albums, The Balcony and The Ride, as well as songs from their upcoming album The Balance.

Drawing influence from bands like The Strokes and The Killers, Catfish and the Bottlemen was formed in 2007. Current band members include: Van McCann (lead singer), Bob Hall (drums), Johnny Bond (guitar), and Benji Blakeway (bass). Their songs range from explosive guitar tracks to raw acoustic recordings, but they all share the same sincerity and focus on simple, strong lyrics written by McCann.

Don’t let the strange name, an homage to an Australian street performer, fool you- Catfish and the Bottlemen is a band with great stage presence and songs you’ll be singing in the car on the way home! Give them a chance, and if you like them, don’t be afraid to get attached, as they have toured in Ohio every year for the past four years- they’ll probably be back!

Catfish and the Bottlemen’s newest single “2all,” released on March 19, 2019
